Chris Stapleton


Chris Stapleton, this man has been a huge hit in Texas country music but the plot twist is he is not even from Texas. Chris Stapleton is actually a Kentucky native, Lexington to be more specific. Besides being a huge Texas Country Music star, and well a star all across country music in general. He has successfully brought back an older style of country music. Its got a touch of blue grass, a hint of rock, and a whole lot of country music situations. My personal favorite of his, at the moment anyways, is actually a rendition of You Are My Sunshine. He sings this rendition with his wife Morgane Stapleton and I can’t lie the first time I heard it, it sent literal chills down my spine. Now the fact that the bride appeared from behind closed doors just as Morgane hit those first few notes may have had an impact, I was at a wedding when I first heard it, but none the less the song is breath taking. Along with knowing it is husband and wife not only singing it together but obviously to each other as well.
So not only has Chris Stapleton absolutely revamped the Texas music scene along with just country music in general and that is something to be proud of.

Cody Jinks

Cody Jinks, not your typical country singer. This guy not only doesn’t really have the “country look” his background is totally different. He was actually the lead singer in a heavy metal band for six years. From what I read it was all the way from head banging to screaming angry lyrics. Cody says in an interview that all music is dark so his transition from rock and roll to country wasn’t much of a change in lyrics just more of a change in the music styles, and that he didn’t even mean to transition to country music. In an interview he says that he just started writing music and it came out country. Even though he didn’t know how to play or even sing country music, so he actually spent time figuring out how to play and sing his own country songs. He released his first album “adobe sessions” in 2015 and its just carried on from there. Curtis Grimes

Curtis Grimes, if yall haven’t figured out yet I like to find a tad bit of background before I began my blogs and this one actually surprised me.   Before he was a successful country music singer this young man played collegiate baseball, he only became a popular country singer after he auditioned for the voice as one of those “what do I have to lose” moments. Knowing he’s a ball player actually clears up why he has a song all about baseball, its actually my all-time favorite of his songs and I’ll drop a link in the bottom so you can laugh at it too. He’s also from Gilmer Texas, fun fact that’s town has my grandma’s favorite Walmart, and also the closet jack in the box to my house. My mother loves Jack In the Box and freaked out when she moved to North East Texas and we didn’t have one close by.
